The Interview Technique for Profits - Profit Pointers=?ISO-8859-1?B?gSA=?=Curriculum, Issue 4

The Interview Technique for Profits - Profit Pointers™ Curriculum, Issue 4

From Christine Harvey (For application of these principles to:  business, real estate, network marketing, personal development, see APPLICATION TIPS below.)

Hi all,

When you think about it, there are only two ways to increase profits.

Many managers and business owners don’t stop to realize that profit generation is this simple. Profit is after all, your income minus expenses. You either increase income or reduce expenses. Which will you choose?

In my experience in consulting for large and small companies around the world – these include Gillette, IBM, Lloyd’s Bank of London, and start up companies as well – the easiest way is to increase sales.

Why – well, think about it. There are two factors. First - in business, just as in personal life, cutting expenses is more difficult because there is always something you want to acquire. Secondly – if you limit your expenses by cutting marketing costs, you might shoot yourself in the foot. No marketing, no added sales. Additionally, there is a limit to how much you can cut expenses, whereas there is no limit to how much you can sell if you are creative.

One road to increasing profit is to be inventive! Why not reduce expenses and increase income with your marketing at the same time? There’s one way I invented to increase profit that I’ve recommended to clients that works like magic.

I call it The Interview Technique. Here’s how it works.

I simply chose six past and current clients and went out to interview to interview them about how they used our products and services.

As I wrote up the results as a report, it worked like a training exercise for me – I learned so much about how the clients perceive the products and services. I was then able to speak knowledgably, and from the heart as I used their quotes as testimonials to gain new customers. It was no longer theory for me. Their stories were alive and persuasive.

I then used these reports as a training exercise within the sales team as well. So we all benefited.

But, here’s the best part. Two out of the six companies placed new orders with us – WITHOUT EVEN BEING ASKED TO BUY. These were orders we would NOT have had without the interviews.

Here’s why we got the orders – during the interview process they had their interest peaked. By expressing the benefits they received, they realized their own needs and placed orders. A light bulb went on and they bought.

Increasing YOUR PROFITS from The Interview Technique can happen too, just as easily.

Here are the results we got and you can get too:

    1. Increased sales
   2. Great testimonials from our customers to use in selling more
    3. A dynamic training tool

So here’s the bottom line: if you want to increase profit, interview your past and current clients.

3 MINUTE FOCUS TIP: Decide which customers you want to interview, call and set up the appointments. (Seeing them in person is better than over the phone if that’s possible. It will increase your sales and profits.) During the interview, ask questions about 2 things: How they used the products or services and what benefits they got. Then write up your report and use their quotes for training yourself, others and for testimonials. Watch your profit go up immediately.

APPLICATION TIPS:

Business, USE THIS FOCUS TIP to increase sales and profit. Use it yourself to improve your own capabilities.

Real estate, USE THIS FOCUS TIP with your assistant, team members and yourself to improve sales and profit.

Network marketing, USE THIS FOCUS TIP with your team members and yourself to improve sales, recruitment and profit.

Personal development, USE THIS FOCUS TIP to improve you’re ability to be persuasive.

If You Want to Increase Sales, Increase Product Knowledge First - Profit Pointers Curriculum, Issue 3

WomenForWealth.com, If You Want to Increase Sales, Increase Product Knowledge First - Profit Pointers™ Curriculum, Issue 3

From Christine Harvey (For application of these principles to:  business, real estate, network marketing, personal development, see APPLICATION TIPS below.)

Hi all,

When pursuing profit, many business owners and managers think that they can train their people on the virtues of their products or services ONCE, and then expect those people to go out and sell like experts. NOT TRUE!

The fact of the matter is that our brains forget 80% of what we hear after two days! So as owners and managers, we have to train ourselves and others repeatedly and systematically to learn the features and benefits of our products and services.

But there’s no time, you protest. Then you’ll like the research by Tony Buzan, Edward De Bono and others showing techniques that work for the brain to learn faster and retain more.

When I was interviewed about pursuing profit on the Brian Hayes Radio Show, I shared the principles from my book, ‘In Pursuit of Profit,’ as follows:

  1. Repeat, repeat, repeat – think of fun ways to review what you are learning or what you are teaching. Let’s say you have a really important point you want remembered and used to increase sales. Then review it 7 minutes after you first learn or teach it.  Then 30 minutes later and 90 minutes later, then 2 days later and a week later.
  2. Give Positive, Not Negative Reinforcement – My co-author Bill Sykes, an organizational development expert says, “Don’t embarrass people publicly, even in jest. The person will not like it and others will side with the one who is embarrassed, not you.” Instead give positive reinforcement — we al learn faster in a positive environment. A kind word goes a long way. What kind of positive reward system can you set up for yourself and others?

So, if you want to increase sales, increase product knowledge first. Do it by repetition and positive reinforcement.

3 MINUTE FOCUS TIP: Decide first what one piece of product information you and your sales people would need to become top sales performers.
Second, review that piece of information at your next opportunity – perhaps a sales meeting or tele-conference, or just a session on your own.
Third, repeat that point 7 minutes later, 30 minutes later and 90 minutes later! Lastly, give yourself and others positive, not negative reinforcement.

APPLICATION TIPS:

Business, USE THIS FOCUS TIP to train employees, or sales people to improve sales and profit. Try it yourself to improve your own capabilities.

Real estate, USE THIS FOCUS TIP with your assistant, team members and yourself to improve sales and profit.

Network marketing, USE THIS FOCUS TIP with your team members and yourself to improve sales, recruitment and profit.

Personal development, USE THIS FOCUS TIP with yourself to improve you’re ability to be persuasive.

The Return to Optimism=?ISO-8859-1?B?rSA=?=Manifest Moments=?ISO-8859-1?B?gSA=?=Curriculum, Issue 2

Good Morning All!
Hope your day is great!!

The Return to Optimism– Manifest Moments™ Curriculum, Issue 2
From Christine Harvey, Author of 6 business and leadership books published in 25 languages

The Return to Optimism Have you ever watched a kid play?

Have you experienced their joy, their optimism as they play? There is no possibility for them that Superman can’t fly, or that mud can’t become a delicious cake! Their optimism just overflows - and they manifest joy!

Esther Hicks, in her book ‘Ask and It Is Given,’ tells us how to get back “to your place of optimism, positive expectation, and expanding joy.” She reminds us that “There is nothing that you cannot be, do or have.”

She recommends that rather than being like most humans – that is feeling unhappy about unfulfilled desires, shortages, dissatisfaction, stuck – we should “KNOW THAT WE ARE THE CREATORS OF OUR OWN EXPERIENCE.”

– Instead we should say, I feel wonderful as I stand in this place, where many things that I desire, have NOT YET come to me!” But KNOW in your heart that they WILL be coming to you!

... By doing so, you’ll affect your own power and values – “you’ll let the energy that ‘creates,’ flow through your decisions, your intentions, and your every thought.”

3 MINUTE FOCUS TIP: What kind of a day will it be for you today? Will it be one of those ‘good’ days in which everything flows, in which you find joy at every turn? Or will it be one of those ‘bad’ days – a day in which everything seems so effortful, sometimes even demoralizing?

Why not MAKE IT the first kind of day – a fabulous day! Use this technique to make it happen for you... Anytime you start to feel discouraged, say to yourself: I feel wonderful as I stand in this place, where many things that I desire, have NOT YET come to me!” But KNOW in your heart that they WILL be coming to you!

Meeting the Challenges and Opportunities Ahead - Profit Pointers Curriculum, Issue 2

WomenForWealth.com,
Mentality For Meeting the Challenges and Opportunities Ahead - Profit Pointers™ Curriculum, Issue 2
From Christine Harvey
(For application of these principles to:  business, real estate, network marketing, personal development, see APPLICATION TIPS below.)

Hi all,

When I was invited to Japan to visit the Sony Corporation following the release of my book, ‘Secrets of the World’s Top Sales Performers,’ I learned something very interesting about Sony’s Founder.

It fact, what I learned influenced my life and my teachings profoundly. When their Founder was in his 50’s, he decided to learn to fly a helicopter. Yet his staff protested, “But Mr. Morita,” they said. “You have all the money in the world – you can save time by hiring a helicopter pilot – why would you want to learn to do it yourself?” Mr. Morita’s answer was perceptive beyond words about humanity, and something we all need to follow.

He said, “I have to keep trying new things in life to keep my confidence up.”

Think of it – a man who built a world famous company from scratch, a man who was sought after as a board member of companies worldwide – and yet he had to keep moving through new ‘challenge thresholds’ to keep his confidence up!

If that’s true for him, what about you and what about me? Don’t we all need to do this? Don’t we need to encourage our employees and loved ones to do this?

Emerson summed up the human dilemma when he said, “Fear defeats more people than any single thing in the world.” But when we examine the traits of the highly successful, we see that they are constantly pushing their ‘challenge threshold.’ In the process, they are constantly developing confidence, new skills and experience leading to the next threshold!

Dr. Lyle, who I met on my first trip to Europe while traveling on the S. S. France, is another person who influenced my life. Dr Lyle, like Mr. Morita, had also started with no money and had made major contributions to society - despite going bankrupt during the depression AND having to start all over again. Dr. Lyle’s told me his motto is - “You can’t be afraid to do things you want to do. You can’t make excuses and hold yourself back. Instead, believe that nothing is impossible.”

Like in the days of Dr. Lyle, we too are coming up against challenges (and opportunities) in our economy.
New skills will be required of us. Difficult decision may be required. Research and new ways of thinking may be required. I can think of no better way to handle the future than the two mottos above – First, keep trying new things to keep your confidence up because you’ll need inner strength. Secondly, don’t let yourself get gripped by fear – instead know that nothing is impossible. Know that your answers ARE out there, or within you. But if you let fear grip you, the answers will elude you! And that’s the truth.

3 MINUTE FOCUS TIP: As you go through your day and week, notice what fears you come up against. Then follow the wise words of Morita, Emerson and Lyle:
    - Bite the bullet, sweep fear aside - try new things to keep your confidence up.
   -  Believe that nothing is impossible.
    - These will keep you from letting fear defeat you.
Share these success points with others.

APPLICATION TIPS:

Business, USE THIS FOCUS TIP to encourage employees, or anyone to improve performance and life satisfaction. Try it for yourself to improve your own capabilities.

Real estate, USE THIS FOCUS TIP with your assistant, team members and yourself to improve capabilities for meeting the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Network marketing, USE THIS FOCUS TIP with your team members and yourself to improve the ‘opportunity mentality’ for creating the future you and they desire.

Personal development, USE THIS FOCUS TIP with yourself to improve the future you’re creating for yourself.

The Rampage of Appreciation Manifest Moments=?ISO-8859-1?B?gQ==?=, Issue 1

Hi Team -

Yesterday I was telling my husband Tom – the famous Economy Guy - about my excitement in creating the new Manifest Moment for our Members. “What is a Manifest Moment?” he asked. It’s just that I explained - “a moment we we’re taking together to manifest what we want in our life.”

How do
you motivate yourself in the morning? I like to wake up in the morning and read something inspiring. And then to write about it for you adds extra reinforcement!

A favorite for me right now is ‘Ask and It Is Given,’ by Esther and Jerry Hicks. Actually I have a stack of books by my bedside, including some I’ve authored. All have inspiring stories or tips from people. These propel me to a really joyful state – one of great expectation, or to a higher frequency as Esther Hicks would say.

So ‘The Manifest Moments™’ are a series of inspirational pieces I share with you. What does this have to do with Wealth Building, you might ask? “Everything,” I would answer. After all, if we think from the point of view of lack, we’ll manifest lack. On the other hand, if we think from the point of view of abundance, abundance comes to us – and we’ll see it at every turn.

So, here’s today’s Manifest Moment. It should take you less than 3 minutes to read and implement – AND give you a week’s worth of contemplation!

All best,
Christine Harvey@WomenForWealth.com
PS - Shoot me an email anytime with your successes in using the Focus Tip below...

The Rampage of Appreciation can be used any time, any place to raise your emotional set point to receive joy and empowerment. Now that’s power. Think of it- what would people pay to learn to bring joy and empowerment into their lives in 3 minutes?

And here it is – brought to us by Esther Hicks through WomenForWealth.com. Try this and see your results – Esther says “The vibration of appreciation is THE MOST IMPORTANT connection ... we have between the physical self and the non-physical self.” If we want to manifest greater abundance, then we simply need to focus today (starting this minute,) on appreciating everything or anything around us. Let’s take the man in the grocery store line – is he annoying us because he’s slow, or can we appreciate his thoroughness or friendliness?

“When you are in the mode of appreciation, there is no resistance within your vibration,” says Hicks. “And the more you maintain these good feeling frequencies, the more the Law of Attraction will deliver to you other thoughts, experiences, people and things that match your practiced vibration.”

3 MINUTE FOCUS TIP: Knowing this, make it your practice each day to focus on raising that vibration through appreciation of anything and everything – as you stand in line at the post office, the grocery store, the traffic light. See the gorgeous trees, the person crossing the street, the well kept building. Watch your energy increase and be aware of the ‘positivity’ that you attract into your day.

An Easy Way to Maximize Performance - Profit Pointers=?ISO-8859-1?B?gSA=?=Curriculum, Issue 1

An Easy Way to Maximize Performance - Profit Pointers™ Curriculum, Issue 1
By Christine Harvey
(For application of these principles to:  business, real estate, network marketing, personal development, see APPLICATION TIPS below.)

Hi all,

When I was running my company in London, I learned an interesting thing.

I had a number of employees who had no idea what their strengths were. They were mainly young university graduates, with great academic backgrounds but no experience in business. I needed them to perform quickly at their highest caliber, so here’s what I did.

I had them sit down for 3 minutes at the end of each day, and I had them write down 2 things they enjoyed or got satisfaction from in a small spiral notebook. Then I listened to their points. At the end of a week, I was amazed to see the trends. One person loved being on the phone to high flying executives, another loved research, and so on.

By doing this process for ONLY A WEEK, several magnificent things happened!

First, I was able to see strengths in them that they had not yet recognized in themselves! By pointing these out, I was reinforcing their belief in their skills, and with this new belief, they were able to go from strength to strength to strength. As a company, we got increased performance!

Second, we developed a great bond. They developed great loyalty to me and my company. Some of these folks went on to work with me over the years, still write and visit. Power question: Don’t you want loyalty from the people around you. I always say, “Show people the best in themselves and they will follow you anywhere!”

Third, I found myself having better job satisfaction, and much less frustration. By zeroing in on their strengths, I was able to employ them where they best fit, and everyone was happy. Their job satisfaction and sense of security skyrocketed because they were now focusing on their area of strength. AND that helped to carry them enthusiastically through other parts of the job that didn’t necessarily match their strengths!

Question: What did I get out of this as a business owner? More importantly: What can you get out of engaging this method?
Answer:
First - Increased performance.
Second - Loyalty
Third - Job satisfaction – for you and them.

3 MINUTE FOCUS TIP: Try this with yourself or others: Sit down for 3 minutes at the end of the day and record 2 things you or they enjoyed or got satisfaction from. If you’re doing it with another person, review it daily together. At the end of a week, look to see what trends you see. These will be the person’s strengths. Reinforce these to improve their performance, loyalty, and job satisfaction.

APPLICATION TIPS:

Business, USE THIS FOR problem employees, new employees or anyone who you want to improve performance, loyalty or job satisfaction. Try it for yourself to improve motivation or self awareness of strengths.

Real estate, USE THIS  FOR your assistant, team members for performance improvement, loyalty and satisfaction of working together. Try it for yourself to improve motivation or self awareness of strengths.

Network marketing, USE THIS  FOR for yourself to improve motivation or self awareness of strengths. USE THIS FOR your new recruits the first 5 days – the difference in performance between them and others will be immediately noticeable. It will also increase your level of support to them – so critical in the first few days. Additionally, you’ll have increased loyalty and satisfaction in working together.

Personal development, USE THIS TO improve motivation or self awareness of your strengths, then build on those strengths.
